That question led Wendy back to school to find new answers to old questions. Four years of doctoral research followed: interviewing career switchers, running quantitative analyses to identify the factors that mattered most, and examining what top, average, and bottom learners actually did differently.
What began as research became a parallel transformation — as a researcher, as an entrepreneur, as a learner herself. The book is the field-tested distillation of what she found.
The book covers the what and why of learning agility, then spends most of its pages on the how.

This book began with a question: "When machines are learning faster and smarter, what about human beings? How are we learning? How can we learn more effectively?" That question led Wendy to her doctoral studies — four years of research, lots of coffee, 25 qualitative interviews with career switchers, and a quantitative survey of 340 professionals. The book translates those insights into something practical and usable.
To unlock your potential, thrive in change, and transform your future. Cultivating learning agility helps you stay relevant in an ever-evolving world — and gradually reinvent yourself. Embrace the chance to contribute your unique gifts, solve complex challenges, and live a more fulfilling working life.
Insights from 360 professionals, distilled into actionable strategies. The data comes from 25 qualitative interviews with career switchers, a quantitative survey with a sample of 340 professionals, and multiple case studies covering people of varying levels of learning agility capability.
Whether you're a dedicated professional seeking growth, navigating a career transition, or building multidisciplinary expertise — this book is for you. Managers, educators, and anyone responsible for developing others will also find frameworks they can use directly.
A counter-question: Do you want to continue learning and adapting to change? Do you want more time, motivation, and consistency in your learning? If "yes" to either, this book will be useful — even (especially) if your status quo is comfortable now.
Three to five hours, depending on reading speed. More importantly, the book prompts reflection — so the practical work continues after the reading is done.
Three options that complement the book: (1) Keynotes on Learning Agility to inspire a whole company. (2) Learning Agility Workshops where teams discover their organisation's Learning Agility Profile™ and develop personalised strategies. (3) An on-demand course for self-paced development.
